Trek Highlights

The 'Nag Tibba Range' is amongst three principal ranges of the Lesser Himalayas, which includes the Dhauladhar, and the Pir Panjal.

The peak owes its name to a Nag Devta temple and in local legends is beleived to be abode of God of Snakes.

Pantwari the starting point of the trek is situated 56 km from Mussoorie and about 90 km from Dehradun.

Nag Tibba is one of the vantage points to observe the higher peaks of Uttarakhand.

Nag Tibba ('Serpent's Peak'), 3,022 metres (9,915 ft), is the highest peak in the lesser himalayan region of Uttarakhand state (Garhwal Division), and lends its name to the 'Nag Tibba Range', itself the next-northerly of the five folds of the Himalaya. It is situated 16 km (9.9 mi) away from Landour cantonment, and around 57 km from Mussoorie in Tehri Garhwal region of Uttarakhand. The 'Nag Tibba Range' is amongst three principal ranges of the Lesser Himalayas, which includes the Dhauladhar, and the Pir Panjal, which branched off from the Great Himalayas.

The trail to the top at slightly more than 3000 meters can be attempted by first-time trekkers looking to do their first himalayan trek or more experienced hikers looking for a short getaway.

Day 01 - Dehradun to Pantwari village and trek to Camp 1

The four hour road journey (85 km) from Dehradun railway station to Panthwari village takes you via Mussoorie, Kempty falls, over Yamuna Bridge and up to Nainbagh on the road to Purola. From Nainbagh main market, take a road going up on the right side also known as Nag Tibba road. From here, after a 12 km drive, you reach Panthwari village which is the starting point for the trek.





Day 02 - Camp 1 to Nag Tibba top and return to Pantwari Village and drive to Dehradun

Day 2 needs to start very early as it’s a long day ahead. After catching a quick breakfast, finishing by 5:00 am, we start on the hike to the top. A trail on the right of the campsite continues through a thick forest cover. With snow envel oping the path in the winters, it becomes a little challenging to locate the trail which is otherwise well defined. Within 20-30 minutes from the camp on the forest trail, you will reach two open patches of land, clearings by the forest fringes. From this point on, the trek is almost a level walk on very gentle undulations.

Trekkers must bring :

Strongly built hiking shoes

Sandals or slippers to wear in campsite

Thick woolen socks, it will keep your feet warm

Thermals are very important

1 shirt, it should be long sleeved

Shirts and pants for campsite, should be warm

1 raincoat or poncho

If cancellations are made 30 days before the start date of the trip, 25% of total tour cost will be charged as cancellation fees. If cancellations are made 15-30 days before the start date of the trip, 50% of total tour cost will be charged as cancellation fees. If cancellations are made within 0-15 days before the start date of the trip, 100% of total tour cost will be charged as cancellation fees.
